Publication Fees
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
- Regular Research Articles: $2,000 USD
- Review Articles: $1,800 USD
- Short Communications: $1,200 USD
APCs are charged after article acceptance and must be paid before publication. Authors from low-income countries may apply for a fee waiver or reduction.
Additional Charges
- Color Figures (print version only): $300 USD per figure
- Page Charges: None
- Supplementary Material: No charge
Authors will receive a detailed invoice listing all applicable charges upon manuscript acceptance.
Digital Preservation
Next Global Health Journal ensures long-term digital preservation of all published content through:
- Partnership with CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) digital archive
- Mirror archives maintained by Portico digital preservation service
- Regular backup to institutional repositories
- Permanent DOI assignment through Crossref
All published articles are archived in multiple locations to ensure permanent availability.
Ethics Requirements
Ethics Approval
Research involving human subjects, animals, or biological materials must obtain appropriate institutional ethics approval before study commencement. Authors must:
- State the name of the ethics committee/institutional review board that approved the study
- Provide the approval number/identifier
- Include this information in the Methods section
- Submit documentation of approval upon request
Studies without required ethics approval will not be considered for publication.
Informed Consent
Research involving human subjects requires documented informed consent. Authors must:
- Confirm that written informed consent was obtained from all participants
- Describe the consent process in the Methods section
- Ensure participant privacy and confidentiality
- Obtain additional consent for identifiable images or detailed case information
- Maintain consent documentation according to institutional requirements
Special considerations apply for vulnerable populations, including minors and those unable to provide informed consent.
